Coach SP. founded NewGen BJJ with a simple mission: share the transformative power of jiu-jitsu with his community. Having experienced firsthand how the mat shapes character, SP is deeply committed to creating a space where kids grow into confident, grounded individuals — and where adults of all experience levels feel welcome to begin their own journey.

Programs for every age group

Kids (Ages 5-10)
Our Littles Program introduces kids to Jiu Jitsu through fun, engaging games and age-appropriate instruction that help them grasp the concepts.
Students learn basic positions like guard, mount, and hip escape while developing balance, coordination, and respect for others.

Youth (11-17)
Our Youth Program focuses on fundamental Jiu-Jitsu techniques like stand-up, guard, side control, mount, and back control.
Students develop skills to advance their position and defend themselves effectively, while also working on discipline, fitness, and leadership.

Adults (18+)
Our Adult + Teen Program is perfect for both newcomers and experienced grapplers.
Whether you're a complete beginner, a parent returning to training, or a seasoned martial artist, this program builds a strong foundation in both basic and advanced Jiu-Jitsu.

Our location is within the Mercer Island Community Center. We partnered with them to bring more offerings to the beloved community of Mercer Island.
